Jan. 12 - Friday Tot Lot

This morning Olive had therapy with Ms. Punam. She seemed to be doing really well, despite not having therapy for the last 3 weeks. She's working on stepping down from a step and can do it without help about 50% of the time.
Then we all went to Friday Tot Lot at the Schaumburg Park District Sports Center. Basically, it was a basketball court, set up with 1 play structure and many bikes and balls to play on. The kids ran around for 2 hours playing, riding bikes and throwing balls. They all had a blast and were unhappy when it was time to go. On our way home we stopped to pick up a new toy shelving unit, which Momma is super excited about!
Miss Lauren brought Kaycee a present today! She found a mermaid swim suit at Target. It's a pink/purple 3 piece suit. 1 top, 1 bottom and 1 tail! Kaycee was so happy she hugged Ms. Lauren and immediately put it on. She didn't take it off till bedtime. I can only imagine we'll have a fight on our hands when I won't let her wear the tail to swimming lessons next week.
Tonight, Momma worked on Olive's birthday cake! 2 books, stacked on top of each other. The bottom tier was a marble cake with fresh strawberry filling. The middle tier was a gluten free cake with chocolate buttercream and the top tier was a rice crispy treat (for Olive's allergies). There was only 1 mishap with the fridge peed on the blue fondant and dripped blue coloring down the white cake. However, once the cake was put together, it looked fantastic! Hopefully, Olive will like it tomorrow!

Daddy won today! He's pretty amazing and super sweet! He sent Momma a text telling her that she was loved and that she could have whatever she wanted for dinner. (She chose Buffalo Wild Wings)! He also had yellow flowers delivered to the door! He's amazing and Momma felt totally loved!

Jan. 11 - Lunch with GG

Kaycee had her first swimming lesson of the day today! Mema picked her up and took her to her lesson. Mema said that this session Kaycee has 6 girls in her lesson instead of 2. It's possible Kaycee could switch to the next lesson, which would have less kids in it.
The rest of us met Mema and Kaycee at Mema's house for lunch with GG. Mema made mac n cheese and I brought left over chili for chili-mac! Papa was there working, so we got to see him for a minute when he slipped out to grab lunch! GG read the kids several books, which made them very happy. Mema even played memory with Kaycee! We did come home in time for a late nap.
Anthony had basketball practice tonight over dinner, so the kids and I were on our own. Thankfully, Daddy made pork chop stir fry before he went! I worked on filling and dirty icing Olive's birthday cakes white he was gone!

Jan. 10 - Auntie Sarah Visits

Auntie Sarah and the girls came to visit today! They made it in time for lunch and then stayed all afternoon and into the evening! The kids played, ate lunch, took naps, played, danced and played some more! We don't spend enough time together, so it's really nice to have some low key time to hang out. Plus all the kids love to play together. Tripp even played dress up with the girls!

Jan. 9 - Tripp's First Day of Sonshine School

Tripp's First Day of Sonshine School!! He did great, all things considered. Last night Tripp was still awake when we went to bed around 10pm, then was awake from 3-4:30am and woke up at 6:45am for the day. He ended up needing a break during Sonshine School because he couldn't sit still. It's tough for him, because Mema's classroom has always only been a place where he gets to play. The transition into school with sitting/paying attention and structure is going to take some time.
After nap time, the kids watched their new Mickey DVD that came in the mail. I'm guessing we owe Frama and Frappy a big "thank you" for the new Mickey movie and shows!
