Today was the only day that no one was coming to stay with Kaycee at our house. So Kaycee got to go to the Carris's house! I wrote out detailed notes about Kaycee's schedule and things that she likes and dislikes. I was a bit nervous about her being so far away from me. But we both survived. Kaycee had a great day, playing and smiling! She ate and napped like she was supposed to. Good girl!! I'm so thankful for the Carris family!!

5th Grade Graduation
Today was graduation. It was a bittersweet moment. Bitter because it's the end of a good year and sweet because my students are moving on to middle school. I made 300 cupcakes for the ceremony, and they were a hit. The students loved getting the cupcake with their picture on it, and the parents loved the ceremony. The students got to walk across a "bridge" after receiving their diploma! Congrats 5th graders and a job well done teachers!

Day 90 - Father's Day at the Zoo
Today was Father's Day and we celebrated it at the ZOO!! Racine's zoo is pretty small, but it provides a couple of hours of entertainment. My favorite part is feeding the giraffes. After paying a fee, they give you 2 crackers to hold up and let the giraffe eat out of your hand. This year both Anthony and I fed them! I'm hoping to turn these pictures into decorations for Kaycee's room. We also fed a camel and touched a turtle. I fed and held the birds, that's not Anthony's thing.
It was a perfect way to celebrate Anthony as a new father. He's a good one! God made him special to be Kaycee's Daddy and I couldn't be more thankful for a loving husband and father!

Day 89 - Baking Baking Baking
Momma's been a baking queen this week. I made 300 cupcakes for 5th grade graduation. 85 cupcakes had white Aunt Jan buttercream frosting with a picture of each 5th grader and a graduation cap. The rest were split between yellow and blue Aunt Jan buttercream frosting. I also made a 1/2 sheet cake for a coworker's son's graduation party. This business is taking off!

Day 88 - Grabby Fingers
Miss Grabby fingers is starting to grab her turtle friend when playing on her play mat. Her turtle friend lights up and plays music for her entertainment. Soon she's going to be picking things up and trying to eat them.

Day 87 - Daddy / Daughter Day
Momma had to go back to work today :( It was chicken dinner day with Mrs. Schwartz's class. Daddy got to spend the day with Kaycee. They came to visit Momma at work, but first they took a walk around the block! Kaycee loves the fresh air and she loves her daddy!
Momma made 4 1/2 sheet cakes for 4K graduation last night and entered final grades until 3am. Today she finished final grades for her 5th graders and enjoyed a pot luck style chicken dinner with Mrs. Schwartz's class. It was a good day but not as good as being on vacation still. We're totally jealous of Gramma, Grampa, Uncle Jon and Uncle Jamey who are still on vacation :(

Day 86 - Cracker Barrel
On our way home from Boyds we stopped at Cracker Barrel. Kaycee was beyond pooped. She fell asleep sitting up in Anthony's lap. She had a great time on vacation and needs a nap to rest up for next year!
Anthony's Musky
This morning we went out on Mason and Evergreen with Jim. He's our fishing guide. Usually Anthony goes musky fishing on Mason and Evergreen; I usually musky fish on the river. This year, we went Walleye fishing on Evergreen and Mason. Unfortunately or fortunately Anthony caught a Musky on a jig and minnow!!!! He even held the musky with both hands!! I'm so proud of him!!

Day 85 - Meals In The Lodge
We took Kaycee with us to all meals in the lodge. She sat on her bumbo seat between Anthony and I. If she got fussy, we would pass her around to whoever was finished eating. She did so well! She definitely was the entertainment of the dining room!
Day 84 - Last Night Fishing
Anthony and I took every opportunity we could get to go out fishing with Grampa. We went in the evening until it was almost too dark to see or the mosquitos were too thick. Tonight the sun went down creating a beautiful sunset. I love the peacefulness of being on the lake in the evening.
Walleye Fishing on Little Bass Lake
This year Anthony wanted to catch a Walleye. Dad took us to the cribs on Little Bass lake. At first we were not successful. We lost several jigs on the cribs and caught a whopping 0 fish. Then we went to the sticks at the far end of the lake and I caught a Walleye that was 1/2 inch short from the keeping range. Dad and Anthony caught some Bass too!
Pontoon Boat and Shore Lunch
Today was a highlight of Boyds. We rented the Pontoon boat for the morning and toodled around Long Lake. We fished the North side looking for some pan fish. Then we went to the shore lunch spot and cooked some burgers, brats and chicken. It was tasty and a perfect morning! I think we have found a new tradition for our week at Boyds.
The best part was taking Kaycee on the water, safely!!

Day 83 - Guests vs Staff Softball
We were really sad when we realized that the Staff vs. Guest softball game was usually on Thursdays. It's a highlight of the week. But this year, it was on Monday night!! So the boys got to participate. We put the mosquito net around Kaycee and took her along too. Anthony was a star!

Day 82 - Gramma Time
Kaycee spent a lot of time with Gramma at Boyds. If they weren't walking around outside, they were playing in the cabin or lodge. Gramma took really good care of her! She's so lucky!
