Day 284 - Friday Night At The Meidams

We left our house a little after lunch time, in order to make it out to Appleton area for dinner. It was wonderful to be there early enough in the evening, to enjoy some quality time with the Meidams. We ate dinner together and then opened Christmas presents together.  Kyra gave Kaycee a giraffe stuffed animal that you can warm up in the microwave or keep in the freezer as an ice pack and a beautiful handmade bow holder. Kynsey gave Kaycee some handmade scarves. Mr. and Mrs. Brown gave her a new shirt and pants as well as a sleep sack!  They gave Anthony and I gift cards for a date!  Then we put Kaycee to bed and watched Mom's Night Out, which is absolutely hilarious! Kaycee got sick almost the moment we walked in, so she was a sad baby trying to sleep. She woke up so many times during the movie. I think we had to pause the movie like 5 times. But finally we made it through.  It's so good to be here. I always feel relaxed and at peace spending time with this wonderful family!

Thank you God for safety and allowing us to spend time with the Meidams.

New Jammies

Last night Kaycee wore her first new Jammies. It is a night gown made out of an old t-shirt. The t-shirt is special because it's the shirt that Jamey tye-dyed in Chemistry class for Jon and Jon wore it for a long time. The sleeves are a little long, but Kaycee will certainly grow into it!

Day 283 - Christmas At Grandma and Grama's house

After opening presents at our house, we picked up Marty and went to Mom and Dad's house. We opened more presents (Secret Santa, To and From Marty, Santa and to my parents).  Then Anthony and Jamey had a jam session. We cooked and ate dinner, so tasty! I'm so thankful for family and Christmas!

Thank you for Jesus. Thank you for sending him to save us. We love you Jesus!

Bathing The Lizard

After opening presents and before dinner, I ran over to the Smith's to bathe the lizard. Buggle needed a drink and because she doesn't drink anywhere but the bathtub (aka Chris's sink), she needed a bath badly. She drank a lot and pooped a lot (which smells very bad!)!  Thanks Susie for this privilege!!

Christmas Morning

It's Christmas morning!! Thank you God for sending us baby Jesus to be born in a stable to Mary and Joseph!!

We started off the morning with some Kringle breakfast and then opened presents. I gave Anthony a new coaches clipboard, a digital picture frame for his desk at work, a dread Tam (a special hat for his dreads). Kaycee made him a calendar for 2015. Grammy gave him some CD's and 2 private lessons at PJ's. We gave Grammy a heated blanket and a picture of her and Marty with Kaycee. Kaycee got a large giraffe pillow pet, a winter coat and a new bible from us. Grammy gave her a Fisher Price Little People Nativity set.  I got a pretzel maker, cake decorating tools and membership to Date of the Month club (12 envelopes with a preplanned date for each month). It was a successful gift giving Christmas. I am so happy to be spending this time with Grammy and my cute little family!!

Day 282 - Christmas Eve Service

Tonight after dinner, we went to Cardinal Drive for the Christmas Eve Service. Tom and Becky met us there after the service was over. We all sat and had brownies and blondies with ice cream for dessert. The blondies didn't seem to cook all the way through, so we had to eat just the outsides. But overall they were tasty!

Thank you Jesus for coming to the earth to save our souls. Thank you for choosing to come as a baby and give us a reason to celebrate!

Christmas Eve Gifts

Mom, Dad, Jon and Jamey came over for dinner and gift opening tonight. It has never been our tradition to open presents on Christmas Eve, but because of complicated arrangements tomorrow, that was our plan this year.  So they came over and we opened presents from Mom and Dad and From Grammy tonight. Mom and Dad got Kaycee and I matching moccasins for Christmas. Kaycee's are too big on her now, but they'll be just right at Pow Wow time next year. They also sponsored a Giraffe for me at the Brookfield Zoo, along with the camping box and several other gifts!! Anthony got another year of Ace's magic club. Kaycee got some new books, some new summer outfits and some Jammies that Grandma made for her!

After opening gifts we had a Spaghetti dinner and then went to church.

Mouse Droppings

We've been having trouble with our silverware/utensil drawers. They fall off  the tracks and then we can't get them in and out. So while dealing with that today, Anthony found some mouse droppings in the drawers. So he diligently rewashed every utensil in 3 drawers!

Day 281 - Music Lovers

Kaycee loves her daddy so much and really wants to be just like him. They're going to be music lovers together!

God, please continue to encourage music loving inside of Kaycee. It's helpful in school, in life and all the way around!

Day 280 - Making Pasta

After Kaycee's bed time, Anthony and I made homemade pasta, using Gramma Gee's recipe and pasta maker. It was really fun. I think we could make this a fun date idea! Hopefully, the pasta tastes yummy (we'll have to wait until Christmas Day to find out!).

Today I pray for Christmas this year. I pray that there is little stress and lots of joy!
