Day 115 - Swimming Pool

Today Kaycee and I went to the swimming pool for a while! We went over the lunch hour, which I thought was a genius plan (less people in the water). Boy was I wrong. There were a ton of people in the water! We went to the water park just down the street and enjoyed every minute of it. We played int he kiddie pool. Kaycee loves the water, except for when I make her get out of it.
Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not bathing and changing her at the pool. She fell asleep in her car seat on the way home. (It was nap time after all) But I couldn't leave her in a wet chlorinated swim suit for her whole nap. So I woke her up to change her and then it was miserable to try to get her to go back to sleep. But she did.
I love the swimming pool and Kaycee loves it too. Maybe, just maybe she'll be a swimmer like her Momma!

My prayer for today is that Kaycee finds some sport that she enjoys doing. I would love for it to be swimming, but I'll be happy with whatever she puts her heart into!

Crafty Momma

I had found these cute headband crafts on pinterest. You can make them out of old t-shirts, which I conveniently found while packing up the house. So I made them this morning after searching high and low for my hot glue gun. Momma's crafty!

Day 114 - Taco Night

Tonight was Taco Night. Grammy said it was her first taco and she enjoyed it. I finally got smart and stopped using all of our bowls to put the taco ingredients in. I used a chip tray and then there was only 1 dish to wash!

Kaycee was making a silly duck face while we were eating. Anthony caught it on camera and we all cracked up!

My prayer for today is Kaycee is not a picky eater. I hope and pray that she is willing to try everything and that she enjoys most food!

Visiting Daddy

Today we went to visit Daddy at work, for lunch. I think it will become a weekly adventure! Kaycee was adorable in her white onsie and brown skirt. I even put a brown bib on. (It said Mommy's little sunshine hahahaha)
While we were there we discovered that Kaycee can sit up on her own for a few moments. She's a talented little peanut! She's so happy to be crammed into Daddy's arms!

Monkey Feet

This little monkey is not only grabbing things with her hands but with her feet too! This morning she had a hold of my fingers with her hands and my arm with her feet. She was holding on for dear life. She's a cute little monkey!!

Day 113 - No Swaddle

Today we tried nap time without a swaddle. It took a while for her to fall asleep, but when she did she slept like normal. She even woke up a happy girl. I can't tell if the swaddle really makes a difference or not. But she sure is cute wrapped in her blanky and smiling at me!

Day 112 - I Love This Face!

One of my favorite times of the days is snuggling with Kaycee in the morning. She has big smiles and is generally a happy girl in the morning! I love this smiley face! She brightens my day!!

Day 111 - Jammies

It's hit or miss on whether or not Kaycee is wearing Jammies under her swaddle. It kind of depends on the temperature in the house. At my parents house it's typically warmer and so we usually don't put her in Jammies under the swaddle. But at our house, it's cooler, so she wears Jammies. I can only imagine that it's going to be very warm/hot at Grammy's and she wont be wearing Jammies. Needless to say we like to snuggle and play in our Jammies in the morning!

Day 110 - Great Grandpa's Birthday

Today we took a road trip to visit Great Grandpa for his birthday. Gramma, Grampa, Uncle Tom, Aunt Becky, Anthony and I piled into the van and drove to Champaign. We visit with GG, GGpa and Aunt Beth at their house for a while and then went to the original Monicals for dinner.  It was super tasty!! I'm so glad that we made the effort to go visit them!!

Day 109 - Fourth of July

Today was busy for our little family. First we took Grammy to the Farmer's Market in Schaumburg. We got some Zuchinni bread, popcorn and peas. Then we went home so Momma could decorate GGpa's birthday cake and bake cookies for tonight's BBQ dinner. Then we went to the Carris's to have a BBQ with the Cofers and the Prewitts. It was a blast! Then off to fireworks at the Sears Center only we stopped in a parking lot before the Sears Center to beat the crowd. We got a great view of the fireworks without the loud boom to scare all the children. Kaycee LOVED them. She sat entranced the whole time. It didn't even bother her when she pooped in her diaper during the fireworks!

Jumper

We rolled out the door jumper today!! Thanks Gray family!! I think she's really going to love it when she's older. Today she got her arm stuck in the leg hole because she's too small to stay in one place. We'll have to leave that adventure for another time!

Day 108 - Bumbo

She loves her bumbo. It allows her to be a part of the family and see all the stuff happening around her. However, sometimes she twists herself all the way around to see what's happening behind her. I think that when she grows a bit this will be harder for her to do.

Day 107 - Daddy Time

Kaycee loves playing with Daddy. They played on the floor of the nursery today and then when it was nap time, Daddy put her to sleep. She usually falls asleep on my shoulder, but today it was the football hold for Daddy.

Day 106 - Love Love love

I LOVE THIS PICTURE! She's adorable and I can't get enough of her!

Good Morning World

I love this face in the morning. After she's been changed and eaten some breakfast, she's a happy smiley girl! I treasure these moments together!
