Stacking Cans/Puppy Pillow

Kaycee's working on her fine (large?) motor skills today, stacking cans. Apparently we need to get some blocks or duplos or legos or something for her to stack... 

I put a new pillow case on the pillow in Kaycee's crib today and she LOVES it. It's a 101 Dalmatians pillow cover that I had as a child. She wanted to get into her crib and lay down even though it wasn't quite nap time and she hadn't had any lunch. It took me a while to convince her to get back out of the crib. 

Phone Calls/Sick Kiddo Day #3

Third day of sick Kaycee. She woke up with only a 99 degree fever and was totally acting normal. However, after nap her fever sparked to 103.7 (under the arm, so with the added degree 104.7). After tylenol and an early bedtime, I'm hoping she'll be better tomorrow. We snuggled a lot today, and kept Tripp away from Kaycee as best as we could.  However, I spent a large portion of today on the phone trying to work out some medical bill issues (our insurance denied some claims and I had to have them reprocess the claims).  I did call the doctor and the doctor told us to wait until Wednesday to see if Kaycee's fever broke by then. We're praying tomorrow! 

Sick Kiddo Day #2

Kaycee's fever got better this morning and then worse again this afternoon. We're a little worried about her, but not freaking out yet. We stayed home from church and rested around the house today. Hopefully, she'll be better tomorrow!! 

Sick Kiddo/Concert

Today started out like most normal Saturdays. Breakfast, playing, hair appointment, lunch and nap. However, Kaycee woke up from her nap with a high fever. Not only was she miserable, but it was bad timing. Anthony and I were trying to get ready to go to a concert with Rob and Molly. So we changed babysitting plans (Instead of Mom and Dad babysitting all kids at the Carris house, Mom would watch the Carris kiddos and Dad watched sick Kaycee and Tripp at our house.) We got everything arranged and settled and were only 15 min. late to the Carris's. 

Rob, Molly, Anthony and I went to Smoque for dinner. It's a BBQ joint in Chicago. SO TASTY! Then we went to the House of Blues for the Andy Mineo concert. The House of Blues is a standing room only place and very crowded. We ended up finding a good place to stand, the far corner, but with a good view! Unfortunately, several groups of people thought they would squeeze in front of us, but they were politely asked to keep moving. The concert was fantastic!! Afterwards we stopped at a cute bakery, bought a few dessert items and enjoyed them in the car on the way home! What a great night out! 

Molly's Gift

I am forever in Molly's debt. There is absolutely no way to repay her for today's gift. I can not tell you the pain I have suffered trying to find a second Giraffee. Molly did it. She didn't believe me at first when I told her that I was contacting the other side of the world (literally) to try and track down another Giraffee. She understands now, and she did it!! The new one is fluffy and beautiful, Kaycee's is worn and loved.  Now to decide whether or not we leave the new one nice, or wear it out to match Kaycee's current Giraffee... THANK YOU SO MUCH AUNT MOLLY!!

Zoo/GRAMMY'S HOME!

The kids and I went to the zoo with Molly, Truett and Alaina. It was a little rainy, but mostly wonderful!! We spent a lot of time in the monkey house and saw the brand new baby gorilla (younger than Tripp). It was so much fun, sad we had to cut it short. But...

Grammy's home!  It's so great to have Grammy home! Kaycee was super happy to go into Grammy's room and see her!! 

HAPPY 1 MONTH BDAY TRIPP!

Tripp is 1 month old! He's super cute sitting on the bear. He was so calm the whole time! I can't believe it's been a whole month. Time flies!

4 Week Check Up/Pics with Papa/Family Date Night

Today we went to see Doc. Mike for Tripp's 1 month check up. He weighed in at 12lbs 1oz (95th%tile) and 24"long (off the charts). That's our big boy!! He's pretty much perfect in every way! After the appointment we went to Papa's house to have Tripp's 1 month pics taken. He was very cooperative, sitting on the bear, eyes wide open and looking at the camera! Pics to come! 

Tonight we had a family date night. We went to Goebberts to pick a pumpkin to carve. We didn't stay and play, just picked a pumpkin. Kaycee picked a good one! Then we stopped at Steak N Shake for dinner. Kaycee enjoyed her hat and Steak N Shake car! I'm so blessed to have a sweet little family!
