Lunch With Nicole And Patti

Last night was a very interesting night of sleep. Kaycee took a while to go back to sleep after we transferred her from her car seat to her crib. And then she proceeded to get up at her normal time. Life with a baby...

Today Kaycee and I drove up to Gurnee to have lunch with Nicole and Patti. Nicole had reached out to Patti and I to help her with a project for her health class students. After we ate lunch, she interviewed us, video taping on the iPad, asking us questions about intimacy before marriage. Her health students were really interested in how it's possible to have a relationship without sexual intimacy before marriage. Patti and I were able to give them some perspective, based off of  our life experiences, that maybe they don't get at home. It was a very cool project.

We were sitting in the farthest corner in the back, to allow for some privacy and a quieter atmosphere for the interview. Unfortunately, another family was seated relatively close to us. There was a grandmother in this family who took a liking to Kaycee. She gushed over how adorable Kaycee was, when she first was seated. Then a few minutes later came over and told us that her table took a vote and that they think that she should become Kaycee's grandma. She wanted us to move close to where she lives. I responded by telling her that Kaycee already lives with her great grandmother and didn't really need a new one.  Then a while later she came back and claimed that we didn't love Kaycee enough and that she should take her home with her. To which I replied by telling her that Kaycee's daddy and mommy might have something to say to that. We love her very much. A little while later, Patti noticed that they were taking pictures of Kaycee, very clearly taking pictures of her. There was nobody sitting behind us, we were up against the wall, plus we were the only two tables in the whole section. Fortunately, they left while we were recording and so we couldn't have another conversation with her. Some people, I tell ya!
