Mr. Rooter/MD at Home/Happy Boy

Grammy's bathtub stopped draining last night, so we had to call Mr. Rooter to come over and rod it. The guy that came over was very nice and super talkative, telling me all about his family and the puppy they were going to get. They did a good job and we're thankful that it's all working again, however they left a mess behind them...
Tripp was super cute in his Daddy's arms tonight. I couldn't stop taking pictures of him grinning from ear to ear. He has the biggest toothless grin and I love it!
It also started snowing today. Bring on the winter!

Grammy Doc. Appt/Too Small Jammies

Today was a rushed day, with helping Grammy take a shower and the nurse here in the morning, we didn't have a lot of time to sit around. I finally got the kids, Grammy and myself out of the house, only 10 minutes later than I had hoped. We went to the GI doctor's office to have Grammy's feeding tube checked. We were praying that the nurse practitioner was going to tell us it was perfect and send us on our merry way. That was NOT the case. Instead the doctor suggested that the tube was not in the right place and sent us to the hospital for an xray, which required an ER visit. Thankfully, this ER visit was relatively eventless and pretty simple. The xray was taken right in the ER room and the results were back quickly. The ER doc said the tube is in the right place and sent us home! We came home just in time to see Kaycee is some cute jammies that were WAY too small for her! It's amazing how quickly littles grow!

Tripp's 2 Month Doc Appt/Mema Visit/Trippy Talks

Kaycee, Tripp and I went to Tripp's 2 month doctor's appointment this morning. Tripp weighed in at 14lbs 2 oz 90th%tile, 25in tall 95th %tile and 42.5cm head circumference. He got 4 shots and cried, but calmed down pretty quickly. He's a champ! Mema came over to visit after the doc appointment. Kaycee was so happy to have Mema's attention!! Tonight, Tripp showed off by talking for the camera. I can't get enough of that cutie!

Painting Pottery Birthday Celebration

Tonight I went out with the women from our small group to Thrown Elements in Arlington Heights. Molly was able to book a party for us and we all got to paint pottery. I chose a plate, that I'm super excited about! It'll hopefully be done in a week! I had such a great time celebrating my birthday and Alaina's birthday with our friends!!

Here Fishy Fishy!

Today was a relatively low key day, which we need more of! After all the crazyneess that has been our lives for the last month or 2, we could use a low key day, every now and then! Kaycee showed her creative side when she scooted the stool (that rocks back and forth with the rocking chair) over to the fish tank, opened the feeding door and stuck her hand inside. Of course I was nursing and convincing her to get down was no easy task. Trippy looked super cute in his sweatshirt and I couldn't take enough pictures. He has such grown up faces, like raising his eyebrows at his Momma!

Matching Mocs/Baking and Sweets Show

Today was such a great day! It started off with Kaycee and I wearing matching Moccasins (Christmas presents from my parents, from last year. Kaycee's were too big for her and I finally decided to let her wear them!) Then Molly and I went to America's Baking and Sweet's Show at the Schaumburg Convention Center. My parents gifted me tickets to the show and 2 classes for my birthday! The first class was the Business Symposium Part 1. Jay talked a lot about your worth as a cake decorator, finding and perfecting your brand and using box mixes to create your cakes. I wish I could have had some 1 on 1 time with him to discuss my business. I gleaned so much from his class.  Then Molly and I took the modeling chocolate figurines class. She was very knowledgeable and gave so many great reasons to use modeling chocolate instead of fondant. I can't wait to buy some chocolate and start making the figurines that she talked about! Afterwards, we walked around the show room. We stopped at a bunch of booths and even bought cake decorating supplies. It was crazy how cheap most of it was. We even got some free items from a booth that was starting to close down. Afterwards, Molly and I went to Chevy's for dinner. It was awesome!!
Molly and I discussed me taking over the planning of VBS for next summer. I'm really excited to take on VBS. I hope that I can put my own spin on it and make it great!

Overtime/Football Party

Daddy worked overtime today, so we spent our morning just like every other weekday morning. We got up, got dressed, ate breakfast, played, played, ate lunch, took a nap and then Daddy got home! After the kids woke up from a nap, we went to Ethan and Latara's house for a football party. It was a lot of fun to hang out with people from our small group, watch some football, talk and eat yummy food! Thanks Rose's for having us over! Then we went to my parents house for tacos for dinner and games. We ended up playing sticks, which was super fun!

Swimming/ShopHouse/Grammy Comes Home

We're missing Grammy this morning, so we decided to go swimming to take our mind off of her. Tripp slept in the stroller while Kaycee and I played in the pool. There were a few other people there, but we mostly had the pool to ourselves. Kaycee wanted to go down the slide, but she had to go under some sprinklers (that were pretty aggressive, if I do say so myself) to get there. So one time was enough for her. She loves the swimming pool, I need to get her there more! Afterwards we went to Aunt Molly's to drop off the carseat we had borrowed, and chat for a few minutes. Then it was home for lunch and naps. Tonight we met Daddy at Shop House the new Asian restaurant near Zurich. They were giving away free bowls today for their grand opening. It's a sister restaurant to Chipotle so you get to chose what goes into your bowl. It was quite tasty and they gave us some buy one get one free cards when we left. Then Anthony went off to ACES and the kids and I went to church while we waited for Grammy to be ready to go home. Fortunately, we saw some of the teen girls there getting ready for Girls Night Out. That was a fun surprise. When we got to the hospital we found out that it would be a while before Grammy was really ready to go home and it was already creeping up on Kaycee's bed time. So I took the kids home and mom eventually brought Grammy home. We're so happy to have her back and so thankful it was just a short quick hospital stay this time!
