Camping Club #1 - Devo, Fishing, and Nicole's Graduation Party

Dad brought the play tent that he set up for Kaycee. All the kiddos were playing in, which brought back memories from when I used to go camping as a kid. After breakfast we all worked on packing up and then had our morning devo. It was wonderful to be sitting together around a campfire thinking about God. Rob's devo was excellent! Afterwards, we went fishing in the kid's fishing pond. It was Kaycee's first chance to try out her new fishing pole! She was super cute casting with Papa. Fortunately, Papa caught something. Then we drove to Cracker Barrel for lunch and then the rest of the way home. We ended up unloading the car at home before heading over to Nicole's graduation party. We stayed for a while, and Kaycee even got to go swimming! Congrats Nicole!

Camping Club #1 - Hiking and Playground

Last night was ok, the kids did not wake up too many times. Kaycee fell off her bed a few times, but I was able to put her back on the bed and she went right back to sleep every time. I did however, find her asleep with her blanket over her face this morning. I'm ok with that because I bet she stayed asleep a bit longer if it made it darker for her! The tent does not block any light, so the light streams in starting before 5am. Thankfully, they were up a little later than that, 6ish. lol After a pancake breakfast, we all had some trouble deciding what to do. It was a little chilly, so some wanted to go to the beach and some wanted to wait till it was warmer. The problem was that the weather man had predicted rain all day. It was beautiful out in the morning, so we all decided to go for a hike. It was a great hike! I wore Kaycee in the Ergo for most of the journey because Mema stayed back at the campsite with Tripp while he took his morning nap. Thanks Mom! After the hike, we played at the park for a while and then went back to the site for lunch and afternoon naps. After naps we went to the beach because it was quite warm in the sun! Kaycee totally enjoyed the water, although she didn't ever put her top half in the water. She liked playing in the sand! Dinner was make your own meat and potluck, which was totally tasty! We always have plenty of food, so everyone had a ton. Then we made individual pineapple upside down foil packs and cooked them over the fire!

Camping Club #1 - Lake Le-Aqua-Na

I bought Kaycee some special headphones to go with her new mp3 player. Jon was selling an mp3 player in the garage sale, and when it didn't sell I took it for Kaycee. I have uploaded all of her music (the children's worship songs, princess music, even the lullaby music) and so we tried it out this morning. She was so excited! I had to cut her off this morning, so that it would still be exciting in the car on the way to camping.
It was! She loved it! She listened to the music for almost the whole trip! Yay, this is exciting because it means I don't have to listen to the Arky Arky song over and over again!
We got to the campground, checked in and got set up before anyone else arrived. I love being in the outdoors, camping, with family and friends! I made a chicken and noodles dish for dinner tonight. It was not as great as I had hoped, but that's ok! Tonight we had a campfire and roasted marshmallows.

Wedding Shower Cake

Kaycee thought she needed a sticker on her eyebrow today. That was fun to get off... NOT!

I finished the wedding shower cake. It's beautiful and I'm very excited about it!

I spent a large portion of today, going through all of the camping gear. It's all sitting in the living room, waiting to be unpacked and repacked. I'm super excited to go camping!!!

Popcorn, No Outfit? Roses

Today was telling. We started off playing doing lots of Tummy Time. We're building those back and neck muscles. Apparently, even Kaycee wanted to do tummy time! I ate almost a whole bag of popcorn while watching NCIS during nap time today, that's what happens when you're not paying attention to your food. OOOPS
This afternoon, Olive pooped out of her last outfit. I went through the bag to find another outfit. I found several swim suits, a few pairs of pants, a sweater with only 1 button at the top, some socks, some bows and a few hats, but no outfits. So Olive was stylish in some pants and an open sweater with some socks!!
Tonight Anthony watched basketball while I made fondant flowers. I made green and pink flowers for Anne's wedding shower cake. I'm excited about this cake because I'm covering it in ganache instead of buttercream!
