Happy Baby/Grammy's Fall

Today was a scary day. I don't wish to repeat it, ever. Tripp woke up to eat around 6 and I fed him till 6:30, then I went back to bed. I few minutes later I heard "Help, help me" through Grammy's monitor. She had been talking in her sleep all night long, and the tone of her voice was no different this time. So for a split second  I considered ignoring it. But I decided to check it out just in case, and boy am I glad I did.  I found her on the floor, facing her bed with her head near the trunk at the foot of the bed. It was strange because her pillows were under her head, the blankets were smooth on the bed, but falling towards the ground. I couldn't peace together how everything ended up the way it did. I also didn't feel like I could get her off the floor safely, so I ended up calling dad for help. (He was at mens group in Schaumburg) So, we got her into the chair, and let her rest for a bit, while I took a shower. Then we went about our normal morning routine: bathroom, get dressed, feeding, etc.  She seemed completely normal and wasn't complaining of any pain. So I left her alone to rest a bit while I got the kids up and we had breakfast. A little later the PT from Home Health came to do therapy with Grammy, but she was too tired to participate. It was scary how unresponsive she really was. We could arouse her long enough for her to open her eyes and answer a simple question, but then she would fall right back asleep. After calling the doctor, it was apparent that she needed to be checked out. I couldn't get her into the car safely and so we called the paramedics. Molly came and picked up Kaycee so she could nap at her house. I'm so thankful Kaycee wasn't around when the panic of paramedics happened. They were supposed to have taken her to Northwest Community Hospital, but instead they insisted on taking her to St. Alexis. Anthony picked up Kaycee from Molly, had to borrow a car seat because I conveniently had them in the van at the hospital, then came and picked up Tripp from me.  In ER they did all the tests, blood tests, CT scans, Urine sample, etc. and found nothing. Ultimately, they wanted to admit her to the hospital but mom insisted on a transport to Northwest Community. I went home to put kids to bed at this point, and mom followed Grammy to Northwest where she was admitted and spent the night. Everything is fine, they're just keeping her for observation.
To end the night off well, Tripp was completely happy and smiling! I love that little boy!

Mema visit/Sibling Fun

Mema came to visit today, to be here when the social worker came. Lori is helping us figure out what the next steps will be for Grammy if/when the time comes. She's also giving us some ideas of ways to help support her at home. It's been really great to have someone who knows what they're talking about help us work through some of our questions. And of course, Kaycee was super happy to have Mema here!
One of the things I am enjoying the most, these last couple of days, is watching Kaycee and Tripp interact. Mostly, Kaycee just lays on top of him or talks to him or sits on him or gives him kisses, but Tripp seems to love the interactions! I pray that they are close their whole lives!

Morning Walk/First Turkey

This is one of the happiest, smiliest little boys I have ever seen! I love to catch his big smiles and other facial expressions on camera! This morning we took a long walk to Walgreens to pick up some medications and other supplies for Grammy. Then we took the long way home walking around the block. I was a little stressed today, getting the house clean and in order for small group tonight, we're hosting. I also was completely stressed out at the idea of cooking a turkey. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to let me make the Thanksgiving Turkey. I'VE NEVER MADE A TURKEY BEFORE. It was not a complete disaster and actually came out tasting pretty good. However, it was a journey getting to that point. I may or may not have cooked my turkey upside down... Either way, it was a great pre Thanksgiving celebration with our small group!

Grammy Doc. Appt

This afternoon I packed up the Tripp and Grammy and we drove out to Arlington Heights where Grammy's appointment was. The doctor's office had promised me that they were on time when I called earlier, but in fact they were over 2 hours behind. I was slightly agitated because it is a lot of work and stress to get Grammy in and out of the car. We were not going to put her through that again, just because the doctor's office was running late. There was no where for us to go so we were going to have to wait it out in the tiny waiting room.  Mom had some kind but firm words with the staff and they got us into a room right away. The doctor was less than helpful, which seems to always be the case. I can't wait until we have everything worked out and don't need to continue to see him every time something goes wrong with Grammy.

Fellowship Treat/Errands

I brought fellowship treat today. Last night I baked sugar cookies and brownies and I also brought the rest of Alaina's birthday cake. She unfortunately wasn't there to have any because she was running her second marathon (look at her go!). Unfortunately, I was supposed to bring fellowship treat last week and so I stepped on Joyce's toes, but it'll all end up ok. Doesn't Tripp look adorable in his red sweater. The kids wore red and Anthony and I work black/gray because we were having a new family picture taken for the members board. I hope it turns out great!
After church I ran several errands, BY MYSELF! Isn't that a fantastic treat from my hubby! I went to Target, Goodwill and the grocery store! I finally found a jean jacket that I like! I'm very excited!

We ended the day off watching a show and drinking sparkling apple cider!

Carthage VS North Park Football

Today we drove up to Carthage to support Zach! We started off tailgating with the Rays, my parents, Alaina, Rebecca, Daniel, Voigts and Carris's. I made a cake for Alaina's birthday and the Rays made tacos. Everyone else brought sides. Lunch was super tasty. It was fairly cold outside, but that didn't seam to bother Kaycee. She loved being outside with a ball playing with all the big people. There was even a puppy at the Carthage's tailgating area that Kaycee got to pet! The game was super fun, Anthony would cheer for the Red   Men while everyone else cheered for North Park. We even got to see Zach play! After the game we all went to Hu Hot for dinner. It was the perfect restaurant for such a large group. It was kind of hard to talk to the people at the opposite side of the table, but everyone could eat as much as they wanted and we could all switch places if we wanted to. The whole day was awesome!!
