Kids Art & Cafe, Pow Wow

We celebrated Tripp's birth week this morning with a special breakfast of biscuits and gravy! Then we spent the morning at Kids Art and Cafe (Plum Grove and Schaumburg Rd). It was a blast! Even though it was quite expensive, they had a lot of play things to chose from. There was an infant area where Tripp spent some time, rideable cars with a gas station, play place with ball pit (which Tripp loved), giant doll house with Minnie Mouse dolls (which Kaycee loved), play kitchen, building toys, books, games, train table and so much more. The kids had a blast until Tripp started to lose his mind. That might have been because we were trying to skip morning and afternoon nap and replace it with 1 middle of the day nap. It worked, sort of...
Tripp napped, Kaycee did not. Instead she poured baby powder all over a picture she took off the wall. Needless to say, it was a less than steller nap time. Although I was able to create a new art entry for my journaling bible, which I'm rather proud of!
The Pow Wow was fantastic! Kaycee had a great time dancing with the dancers and watching the pretty ladies with their bells. She loved the new umbrella stroller that we bought today, and wasn't too thrilled when Trippy borrowed it. However, Anthony could wear Tripp in the Ergo today, which is a huge accomplishment!! I'm so proud of my hubby who's working so hard to lose weight and get into better shape!  Kaycee kept her panties dry the whole time and we even ran into Frama, Emily, Olivia and Gina at the bathrooms (port-a-potties). I was a little bummed because I felt like we missed most of the dancing, however we did get to see a bunch of dances after the Grand Entrance. Overall, it was a wonderful afternoon followed by a tasty pizza dinner and conversation with my parents!

Happy first Birthday Tripp!!

Happy Birthday Mr. Trippy!

I love you so much buddy. You are the best little buddy Momma's got! You're so happy all the time, except for when you're hangry or getting tired. You love life and laughing. You love talking and screaching. You love whatever toy your sister has plus some of your own. You love bear crawling but not walking. You love to eat and drink and you love sitting in your big boy chair without the buckle. You love being outdoors and your even getting used to the grass under your feet. You love being on the go and cell phones and shoes are your secret obsession. You're loving and snuggly (for a second anyway), you love being in Momma's and Daddy's arms. You love your sister and you love to smile!

We celebrated today by going to Jumps and Jiggles where we played in the play place and rode the carousel 5 million times. That was mostly Kaycee's choice, but she sure loved it. It was fantastic having Mema with us to play! You were tired when we got home and took an excellent nap.
Tonight we took your 12 month pictures with Papa and then went to Chili's for dinner. Aunt Becky and Uncle Tom came out to help celebrate with Mema, Papa, Uncle Jon, Momma, Daddy and Kaycee. You ate everything under the sun, including corn dog, mandarin oranges, mac n cheese, french fries, rice, beans, chips, salsa and chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. I hope it was a great first birthday dinner! Happy Birthday Buddy, we love you!

Mema Visit

Kaycee stayed in bed all night! She woke up, played with some dollies and books in her bed and stayed put! So proud of our little girl, in her big girl bed, for the first whole night!
The kiddos made it to Anthony's job's main home page today! They look so happy on the swings with Daddy!
Mema came to visit today. Her mission was to make headway on the dresser in the back bedroom, however she got side tracked by bringing Kaycee a super awesome present! Mema gave Kaycee a pair of high top Minnie shoes that light up when she walks. Kaycee was beside herself excited! Mema also brought Kaycee a pair of winter boots that should fit throughout the whole winter and are bright pink! Kaycee doesn't quite understand why she can't wear them yet, thank goodness there's no snow yet!

Noodles for Lunch, Big Girl Bed

Today we took Daddy to Noodles to celebrate Tripp's Birth Week. Tripp and Kaycee ate a huge helping of Mac N Cheese and enjoyed every bit of it! We sat in a large booth and the only way to situate all the kids, so that the table was close enough to Kaycee, was to sit Olive up in her car seat. Her car seat was on it's edge, wedged between the booth and the table so that Olive was practically sitting instead of laying back. I kinda liked her up at the table with the family for lunch!!
Welp, it's finally happened. We've rearranged Kaycee's room and added the big girl bed. Too many times of Kaycee crawling out of her crib, prompted this big change. Anthony brought the twin bed from the back bedroom into Kaycee's room, and I sat in the mess for a long time trying to figure out how to rearrange. It was seriously such a frustrating couple of hours because I couldn't figure out how to get all the furniture to fit. Knowing that another baby girl was coming, we needed to leave the crib and baby materials in the room. This caused a space issue, resulting in some odd choices for furniture arrangement like the chair in the closet. However, I think it worked out well! I'm excited to see what happens now. Will Kaycee stay in her big girl bed?
