Pontoon Boat Day! We have the pontoon boat all day! So after
breakfast, we took the pontoon back to Ottie. I stayed with Tripp and Izzy
while they napped and Anthony, Papa, Mema and Kaycee toodled around the lake in
the pontoon. They did some fishing but didn’t catch much. They tried to start
the fire at McNickle Point, but there was no fire starting materials. So Papa
ran up to the cabin, but there were no fire starting materials in the cabin
either. So instead they went to the lodge to grab the cookout lunch which had
fire starting materials inside. Then they dropped Papa off at the picnic point
and drove the pontoon back to Ottie to pick up Tripp, Izzy and me. I was very
nervous about ticks and mosquitos at the picnic point because it’s completely
in the woods, however they weren’t as bad as I expected. Papa had 1 tick when we
arrive and Mema had 1 tick after trekking through the brush. The rest of us
were tick free! I brought the pack n play and a mosquito net for Izzy, but in
reality she didn’t really need them. Kaycee and Tripp played in the pack n play
with Izzy as well as wandered around the picnic spot while lunch was cooking.
We had chicken, hotdogs, brats and burgers with green beans, baked beans,
potatoes and mushrooms/onions. We also had oranges, apples, lemonade, iced tea
and Jean Wheeler cookies! The picnic was super fun and lasted until nap time.
So we took the kiddos back to the cabin and Mom stayed with them while they
napped. Dad, Anthony and I went to the
South end of Long Lake and fished for pan fish plus walleyes. I caught 2
walleyes! Dad and Anthony dropped Mema, the kids and I off at the beach for an
hour or so while they walleye fished at the boat house. Kaycee and I built a
very cool sand castle. Then it was back to the cabin for a quick shower before
dinner. Dinner was beef tenderloin and crab stuffed haddock with mint mousse in
a chocolate cup. After dinner we were to wiped to fish again, so we played a
round of sticks and headed off to bed. Izzy was up 3 times, the last time for
an hour and half. It was rough!
