What a great day! The kiddos slept until after 7, which was a wonderful treat for everyone. Typically when we're at someone else's house and the sun shines through the windows, the kiddos wake up especially early. After a lazy morning eating all kinds of yummy breakfast including pancakes that Aunt Beth made, the children played and napped. Then we headed over to Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Tom's house. The house was locked and Grandma and Grandpa were still in bed, but they were happy to see us. Grandpa came out to the kitchen where we chatted for a while. Then we moved to the living room where we chatted some more. Dad and Kaycee played on the floor with a set of blocks that have been in the Hill family for a long time. Grandpa mentioned that he used to love to get on the ground and play blocks with his kids and grandkids. It made me happy to hear his memories but sad to see him stuck in the chair. Grandma Nancy took us out to lunch at Applebee's while Grandpa napped in the chair. We got to be with Grandpa for a while longer after we got back. Grandma got a book building kit out and helped Kaycee draw some pictures in the book. It was a beautiful site to watch Kaycee interact with Grandma and Grandpa. It was a beautiful moment, filled with emotion that I will cherish forever. The trip home was broken in 2 with a stop at Moinicals for frozen pizza for dinner. Mom and Jon met us at our house to have salad and pizza. They brought over some firewood for Night Light tomorrow. Hopefully, we can get food bought, house cleaned and a baby shower cake decorated before tomorrow.
