This morning we all slept in ... well until 7am, that is. Then headed up for breakfast. Pancakes again. Daddy got the marathon of breakfasts: omelet, pancakes and french toast. Then we all went out to the playground and wigwam to play with Kaycee. About 9am we went back to the cabin to start fishing. Dad, Anthony and Jamey went out fishing for Walleye. Unfortunately, they didn't catch too much but had a good time anyway. Kaycee played and played while Mom and I discussed more Sonshine School curriculum and VBS curriculum. When they boys came back I switched with Jamey and went out fishing with Dad and Anthony. We went to a shady/sunny spot on the south end of the lake and tried to catch something. A few small Bass and mostly rock bass to speak about. Then we came back to the cabin, woke Kaycee up from her nap and then headed to the cookout for lunch. They grilled up hamburgers, brats and hotdogs with all the fixings and had baked beans, potato chips, potato salad and cookies as well. We started off sitting in the sun but had to move to a shaded picnic table because it was so hot.
After going back to the cabin and changing we headed out to the beach. Our hour beach plan turned into an hour and 45 min beach experience. Amy met us there and we started off by walking around in the water and then sat where the water meets the sand and played with sand toys. Kaycee was much more excited about the beach and even walked in the water farther and farther with Memaw. My little swimmer girl! After realizing we had been out in the 80 degree weather and the beating sun for longer than we intended we took Kaycee back to the cabin for a bath and a nap. The bath happened like we planned, the nap not so much... That girl...
Jamey swam to the beach and back in 30 min and 18 seconds, a new record!! Then mom and dad went out on their last fishing date! We all met up at the Lodge for our last dinner at Boyds. It was fried Cod and Ribs with asparagus and potatoes. Dessert was a strawberry rhubarb tart. After dinner we said our goodbyes to the Gray family and then headed back to the cabin. Dad, Anthony and I went on our last fishing adventure to the North end of the lake where the Walleye live. We each caught a Walleye under the slot and got to keep it!
On our way to the fish cleaning house we dropped Jon and Jamey off at the bonfire that the staff had invited us all too. They seemed to have a good enough time! We cleaned a few Bluegills, a Perch, and several Walleyes. Enough for a full family meal! Then it was home to pack a little and hit the sack. Sad to be ending our week.
