Zoo with Daddy!

Daddy had early release summer hours today, so he got off at 2pm!! He suggested a trip to the zoo using our membership for this afternoon! I'll never complain about a visit to the zoo! So we packed up and headed on our way when he got home. We knew we would only have a few hours because the zoo closes at 6pm, except for Summer Nights patrons. We started off walking towards the penguins and decided we would start in the back and make our way forward. It was so funny to watch Kaycee play with the penguins through the class and peer through the bars in the monkey house. She's now at the age where she wants to be up and moving and see all the animals, she even interacts with you about the animals. I love this age! We made our way towards the Sting Rays and stopped by the festival grounds for a while to watch the jugglers on stilts and the magician do some tricks. Then we went and pet the sting rays. This was the first time I've ever been there when they wern't selling sting ray food. We did end up getting to pet a bunch of sting rays even though the little boy next to us was grabbing them and making it rather difficult. :( I would just get into the sting ray pond and swim with them if I was allowed! Then when we were on our way out we asked about Summer Nights because it didn't seem like they were kicking anyone out and it turns out that the zoo wasn't kicking anyone out, so we got to stay if we wanted. We checked out the kids magic show for a while and retook our picture in the Sting Ray pond, but ultimately decided to get Kaycee home for a later dinner and even later bedtime. It was a perfect afternoon with my cute little family!
