Monday at Boyds!

Kaycee slept a little later this morning until 7:15ish. So we all got up and headed to breakfast about the same time. (this is forming our morning pattern!) Again pancakes, egg sandwiches and french toast for breakfast!  We decided to split the morning fishing session in half, in anticipation of the afternoon thunderstorms. So Dad, Anthony and I went fishing first. We went to the south end of Long lake to look for more Walleye or Bass. Anthony caught a 13in and a 13.5in Largemouth Bass, both too small to keep (they have to be 14in to keep) and dad and I caught many small baby bass. It was a rather unsuccessful fishing trip, but it was still well worth it! Then we traded with Jon and Mom and they went out with dad to fish. Apparently, dad's baby bass was followed all the way to the boat by a muskie who kept following it around the figure 8, 8 times before giving up and swimming away. That would have been an exciting catch in a walleye net with 8lb line and a little jig head.

We all met up for lunch which was some sort of leftover turkey tetrazzini meal. Kaycee thoroughly enjoyed her noodles for lunch! It started thunderstorming right when lunch started and we were afraid it was going to storm all afternoon. It let up enough for Dad and Jon to get the boat back to the cabin. Then all the rain clouds went away and the sun came out. Dad, Jon and Anthony went out to on Long lake to see if they could catch anything before the rain came back in, while Kaycee and Grandma took a nap. When they came back in, Anthony and I went out to fish before dinner. It started to sprinkle on us and we quickly put on rain gear. Anthony's poncho wasn't cooperating and while we were trying to sort that out, it started to rain harder and harder. By the time we had him completely covered, the rain had quit. So we decided to stay out. We didn't catch much to speak of, but it was a good time. It rained on us 2 more times before we finally decided to come in. Boy was that the right decision! Grandpa and Kaycee met us on the dock to help unload and as soon as we all got inside the sky opened up and poured for a long time. The boys played a game of Dominion while Kaycee and I played with her toys.

Then we all headed up to dinner in the car. Dinner was pork loin, beef ribs and duck with spaetzle/wild rice, sauerkraut and red cabbage. Dessert was a raspberry pie. Of course it was way too much food even though Anthony and I split all of our meets with each other and even Kaycee. Greg was our waiter (since April had the day off) and even gave me the left over spaetzle to take back to our cabin for a late night snack. After another round of fishing, we started Carcassonne around 10pm and played till around midnight. I won, by total luck (I picked 3 monasteries in a row). It was a good way to end the evening though.
